Pepelu: "The push from the fans helped us get the goal"
The midfielder reflects on the draw with Sevilla FC
Pepelu spoke to VCF Media following Valencia CF's 1-1 draw with Sevilla FC in LaLiga.
AGAINST THE GRAIN
“We knew it was going to be a tough match, because Sevilla play very physical games, and it’s very difficult to beat them. The game turned against us with an unfortunate move, but we have to focus on the fact that the team fought hard, tried hard, and in the end, we got a point. We wanted to win, but given how the game unfolded, we have to value this result.”
FIGHTING TOGETHER
“It was a match where it was difficult to create clean attacks. We knew Sevilla played that kind of game, but we weren't clinical enough in the final stages and it became a tough contest. But the team believed, pushed forward, and thanks also to the support of the fans, we managed to score a goal.”
THE DRAW
“We’re left with a bad feeling because the team were looking for the home win, which would have strengthened our position in the standings. But we have no other option but to correct things, move on and look ahead.”
